Words for the season ahead

From the Dirt Rag SS Haiku-off of years past:

Words of praise and love
for two wheels, one gear ratio
This is fantastic!

Titanium rails?
Standing and mashing the way
Saddle is wasted!

No frills under me
Guy riding bling eats my dust
Poser blames his bike!

Rock is menacing;
The line of choice straight ahead
because it is there.

Burning calories,
mashed potatoes can't match the
mashing of one gear.

A walk up the hill
is just an alternate way
for legs to turn wheels.

Genetic defect?
On-one Inbreeding gives me
just a single speed.

Rolling inertia
One speed becomes infectious...
Must tell the whole world!!!

World at peace, until
I hear the slap of a chain -
I am not alone.

May all who pedal
soak these words into their souls
and find peace on wheels.

A goodbye to winter limerick for good measure:

There once was a man named Kris Kringle,
Who got a wee bit careless with his dingle,
his girl got with child,
and to marriage he was exiled,
but vowed, "All of my bikes shall stay single!"

THINK SPRING!
